An ABZ diesel generator is an intelligent supplement to your existing mains connection, and will smoothly take over in critical situations. When the mains network fails, the electronic control system will give the start command for the diesel engine with a delay of 1-3 seconds. When the engine reaches the rated speed (revolutions per minute), the load is automatically switched over to the generator within 10-15 seconds. After the power supply returns, the load is returned to the mains power supply after a delay interval that can be set. The diesel engine runs down and after a pre-selected interval, it switches-off. The plant is then again ready for operation.
Photo above: here we have a double unit with two generator sets each of 1565 kVA. The CATERPILLAR engines, type 3512, work with AEM alternators. The units operate in parallel and provide backup to the headquarters of a German insurance company in Hamburg.
Photo below: two units, each of 1325 kVA with MTU diesel engine type 12V4000 and LEROY SOMER alternator. They provide backup power to an Internet switching station in Frankfurt. The units run in parallel operation. The control panel is also equipped for uninterrupted overlapping synchronisation as well as trial run under load.
